Our Maintenance Technicians are skilled, hands-on members of the Venue Services team who help keep the property operating safely, reliably, and efficiently through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, equipment support, and daily facility care.


Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out hands-on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, equipment support, and general facility maintenance throughout Harvest in the Gardens.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role performs assigned maintenance work directly and is expected to take an active role in resolving building, equipment, and facility issues safely and efficiently.

The Maintenance Technician will work across a wide range of maintenance needs, including basic electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, painting, fixture replacement, minor mechanical troubleshooting, equipment checks, lighting, doors and hardware, furniture repairs, preventative maintenance tasks, event setup support, and other general facility requirements within the scope of the role.

This is a practical, hands-on position for someone who is comfortable using tools, diagnosing problems, completing repairs, working throughout the property, and responding quickly when something is not operating as it should.

Guest Experience Stewardship

The Maintenance Technician helps ensure guests experience a property that is safe, comfortable, fully operational, and well maintained.

Responsibilities include:

  • Respond promptly to maintenance concerns affecting guest areas.

  • Complete repairs with minimal disruption to guests and operations.

  • Maintain a courteous and professional presence when working in public spaces.

  • Identify and address visible maintenance issues before they negatively affect the guest experience.

  • Help ensure guest-facing spaces remain safe, functional, attractive, and operationally ready.

  • Remove tools, materials, debris, and work-related items promptly once repairs are completed.


Hands-On Maintenance & Repair

The Maintenance Technician is expected to actively perform maintenance and repair work throughout the property.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Replace light bulbs, lamps, fixtures, switches, outlets, and other basic electrical components within the authorized scope of the role.

  • Troubleshoot minor electrical issues and report conditions requiring licensed or specialized support.

  • Repair leaking faucets, toilets, drains, valves, fittings, and other basic plumbing concerns.

  • Clear minor plumbing blockages where appropriate.

  • Repair doors, hinges, locks, handles, closers, cabinets, shelving, and hardware.

  • Perform minor carpentry repairs and adjustments.

  • Patch walls and surfaces and complete basic painting and touch-up work.

  • Repair or replace damaged furniture, fixtures, trim, and other property components where appropriate.

  • Inspect and perform minor repairs on tables, chairs, counters, storage units, and operational furnishings.

  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical and equipment issues.

  • Assist with routine HVAC checks such as filters, visible operating conditions, thermostat concerns, and basic maintenance tasks within the scope of training.

  • Inspect lighting, plumbing fixtures, doors, flooring, ceilings, walls, and other facility components for damage or deterioration.

  • Perform routine adjustments, lubrication, tightening, cleaning, and replacement of minor components.

  • Assist with installation, assembly, relocation, or setup of equipment and fixtures.

  • Support basic repairs to guest-facing and back-of-house equipment where trained and authorized.

  • Maintain exterior fixtures and designated facility components where assigned.


Preventative Maintenance

  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules.

  • Inspect equipment, fixtures, and facility components for wear, damage, leaks, unusual noise, overheating, vibration, or other signs of potential failure.

  • Clean, adjust, lubricate, tighten, and service equipment and components as required.

  • Replace filters, belts, small parts, batteries, bulbs, and other routine maintenance items where appropriate.

  • Identify developing issues and report them before they become major failures.

  • Record completed preventative maintenance work accurately.

  • Help reduce emergency repairs and equipment downtime through proactive attention.


Work Orders & Service Requests

  • Receive assigned work orders from the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Review the reported issue and assess the work required.

  • Gather the appropriate tools, materials, and supplies before beginning work.

  • Complete repairs safely and efficiently.

  • Test repaired equipment or systems before returning them to service.

  • Document work completed, materials used, and any additional follow-up required.

  • Notify the Maintenance Supervisor when repairs require specialized trades, additional parts, outside vendors, or further assessment.

  • Provide timely updates when work cannot be completed immediately.


Equipment & Facility Inspections

  • Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas.

  • Check building components, fixtures, equipment, and operational spaces for maintenance concerns.

  • Identify leaks, damage, wear, electrical concerns, loose hardware, broken fixtures, and other defects.

  • Inspect doors, locks, lighting, plumbing fixtures, furniture, equipment, and designated mechanical areas.

  • Report hazards and significant equipment concerns promptly.

  • Take appropriate immediate action when a minor repair can safely be completed within the scope of the role.


Event & Operational Support

  • Assist with facility preparation for special events, meetings, entertainment programming, and high-volume operating periods.

  • Support setup and breakdown of equipment, furniture, fixtures, signage, and operational materials where assigned.

  • Complete pre-event facility checks.

  • Respond to maintenance issues that arise during events.

  • Assist with restoring event and operational spaces after activities conclude.

  • Support emergency or time-sensitive repairs that may affect guest service or event execution.


Team Member Stewardship

  • Support team members by responding to maintenance requests efficiently.

  • Communicate repair progress and operational impacts clearly.

  • Work cooperatively with other departments to minimize service interruptions.

  • Participate in maintenance briefings and operational meetings when required.

  • Follow direction from the Maintenance Supervisor and communicate when additional support is needed.

  • Maintain a collaborative, respectful, and solution-focused approach.

Operational Stewardship

  • Perform assigned maintenance tasks thoroughly and to established standards.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.

  • Use appropriate tools and materials for each task.

  • Follow lockout, equipment-isolation, ladder-safety, PPE, and other established safety procedures where applicable.

  • Secure maintenance work areas when repairs may create a hazard.

  • Keep maintenance spaces, carts, storage areas, and workshops organized.

  • Report damaged or unsafe tools and equipment.

  • Assist with emergency repairs and facility recovery when required.

  • Complete opening, operating, or closing maintenance checks where assigned.


Financial Stewardship

  • Help extend the life of company assets through proper maintenance and timely repairs.

  • Use parts, tools, materials, and supplies responsibly.

  • Avoid unnecessary waste of maintenance materials.

  • Identify issues early to help reduce major repair costs.

  • Support cost-effective repairs where appropriate.

  • Assist with inventory counts and monitoring of maintenance supplies.

  • Report recurring equipment failures that may warrant further evaluation.


Cross-Functional Stewardship

  • Coordinate with Environmental Services to address facility and cleanliness-related maintenance concerns.

  • Support Events & Experiences with venue readiness and event-related facility requirements.

  • Assist Food Experience and Culinary teams with approved equipment and facility maintenance needs.

  • Work alongside Security to address physical safety and property concerns.

  • Support Guest Experience teams when facility issues affect guest service.

  • Coordinate appropriately with approved contractors when specialized repairs are required.

Maintenance Technicians are expected to be dependable, practical, safety-conscious, and comfortable working directly with tools, equipment, fixtures, and building systems.

This role requires someone who is willing to move throughout the property, inspect problems firsthand, troubleshoot issues, complete repairs, and take ownership of assigned work through completion.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or a related trade.

  • Working knowledge of general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and repair practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and complete general maintenance repairs.

  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.

  • Ability to document completed work accurately.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and practical judgment.

  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency maintenance needs when required.

Preferred

  • Technical certification in facilities maintenance or a skilled trade.

  • Experience in hospitality, entertainment, commercial, restaurant, or resort maintenance.

  • Experience working with preventative maintenance programs.

  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or digital work-order systems.

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation systems.

  • Experience supporting commercial kitchen or guest-facing equipment.

  • First Aid, CPR, or workplace safety training.


Working Conditions

This is an active, hands-on maintenance position.

The role requires regular movement throughout the property and may involve extended periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing ladders, carrying tools and materials, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Maintenance Technicians may work around electrical systems, plumbing systems, mechanical equipment, commercial equipment, construction materials, tools, ladders, and active operational areas.

Work may also involve varying temperatures, weather conditions, noise levels, confined work areas, or guest-facing environments.

All work must be performed in accordance with established safety procedures and within the individual's training and authorized scope.
