Position Overview
The Security Officer is responsible for protecting the safety of guests, team members, visitors, and company assets while maintaining a welcoming and service-oriented presence throughout Harvest in the Gardens.
Reporting to the Venue Services Team Lead, this role conducts routine patrols, monitors property activity, responds to incidents, enforces company policies, and provides assistance during emergencies. Security Officers work collaboratively with all departments to promote a safe, secure, and positive environment.

Areas of Stewardship
Guest Experience Stewardship
The Security Officer is responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment while delivering professional and courteous service to every guest.
Responsibilities include:
- Welcome and assist guests with professionalism and respect.
- Provide directions and information when appropriate.
- Monitor guest areas to promote a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Respond promptly to guest concerns involving safety or security.
- De-escalate situations calmly and professionally whenever possible.
- Serve as a visible ambassador for safety throughout the property.
Team Member Stewardship
- Build positive working relationships with team members across all departments.
- Provide support during emergencies, special events, and operational needs.
- Communicate security concerns promptly to leadership.
- Participate in daily operational briefings and safety meetings.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and mutual respect.
Operational Stewardship
- Conduct routine patrols of buildings, attractions, parking areas, and outdoor spaces.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas.
- Complete incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies, disturbances, accidents, and security incidents.
- Monitor CCTV systems and security equipment as assigned.
- Report maintenance or safety hazards promptly.
- Support emergency preparedness procedures, evacuations, and crowd management when required.
Financial Stewardship
- Help protect company property and assets from theft, vandalism, and misuse.
- Monitor security equipment and report operational issues.
- Support loss prevention initiatives.
- Assist in protecting inventory and operational resources.
- Promote responsible use of company equipment and facilities.
Cross-Functional Stewardship
- Collaborate with Guest Experience to assist visitors throughout the property.
- Support Events & Experiences during concerts, festivals, and private events.
- Coordinate with Venue Services to identify and address safety concerns.
- Assist Food Experience leadership during high-volume operations when guest safety requires.
- Communicate effectively with emergency responders and public safety agencies when necessary.

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, hospitality security, or a related field preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Preferred
- Valid Security Officer License or ability to obtain one in accordance with Bahamian regulations.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience working in hospitality, entertainment, retail, or tourism environments.
- Experience with CCTV monitoring and incident reporting systems.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and crowd management.
Working Conditions
This position requires flexibility to work mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
The role requires extended periods of standing, walking, and patrolling both indoor and outdoor environments. Team members should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a visible presence throughout the property.
