Position Overview
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, health, and safety of all landscaped and outdoor areas throughout Harvest in the Gardens.
Reporting to the Venue Services Team Lead, this role performs routine landscape maintenance, lawn care, irrigation monitoring, planting, pruning, seasonal beautification, and outdoor facility upkeep. Groundskeepers help ensure the property remains visually stunning, safe, and welcoming throughout the year.

Areas of Stewardship
Guest Experience Stewardship
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining outdoor spaces that create exceptional first impressions and memorable guest experiences.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain clean, attractive, and welcoming landscapes throughout the property.
- Ensure walkways, gardens, and outdoor gathering areas remain safe and visually appealing.
- Respond promptly to landscape concerns affecting guest comfort or safety.
- Assist guests courteously when providing directions or answering basic questions.
- Help preserve the beauty and atmosphere that define Harvest in the Gardens.
Team Member Stewardship
- Work collaboratively with Venue Services and operational teams.
- Communicate landscaping concerns and priorities with leadership.
- Support special event preparations by maintaining outdoor event spaces.
- Participate in daily operational briefings.
- Foster a culture of stewardship, teamwork, and pride in the property.
Operational Stewardship
- Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
- Plant, prune, water, fertilize, and care for flowers, shrubs, trees, and other vegetation.
- Monitor irrigation systems and report deficiencies.
- Remove weeds, debris, fallen branches, and litter from outdoor spaces.
- Maintain outdoor furniture, planters, signage, and decorative features as assigned.
- Operate landscaping equipment safely and according to established procedures.
- Report pest issues, plant diseases, irrigation failures, and property hazards promptly.
Financial Stewardship
- Protect landscaping equipment through proper operation and maintenance.
- Use fertilizers, mulch, plants, and other materials responsibly.
- Help extend the life of landscape assets through preventative care.
- Assist with inventory monitoring of landscaping supplies.
- Promote cost-effective maintenance by identifying issues early.
Cross-Functional Stewardship
- Coordinate with Events & Experiences to prepare outdoor venues for special events.
- Support Environmental Services in maintaining attractive public spaces.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians on irrigation and outdoor infrastructure repairs.
- Assist Security by identifying outdoor safety hazards.
- Work alongside approved contractors during major landscaping projects.

Groundskeepers are expected to demonstrate pride, dependability, environmental stewardship, and attention to detail. Team members should proactively care for the property, maintain high landscaping standards, work safely, and recognize that every flower bed, lawn, and pathway contributes to the overall guest experience.

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, horticulture, or outdoor maintenance preferred.
- Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
- Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
Preferred
- Experience maintaining commercial properties, resorts, parks, or botanical gardens.
- Knowledge of tropical plants, trees, and landscaping practices.
- Experience with irrigation systems.
- Certification in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of pest management and plant health.
Working Conditions
This position requires flexibility to work mornings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
The role requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting, digging, pruning, and operating landscaping equipment while working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Team members should be comfortable working in heat, rain, and other environmental conditions while maintaining safe work practices.
