Lead the Kitchens Behind the Experience

Harvest in the Garden (HITG) is a multi-concept destination combining hospitality, culinary, retail, and entertainment into one integrated guest experience.

Multiple food concepts operate simultaneously within the venue, each contributing to the overall experience.

We are seeking a Culinary Director who can lead kitchen operations across all concepts and ensure consistent food quality, strong kitchen discipline, and efficient execution at scale.


About the Role

The Culinary Director is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations across the venue.

This includes:

• Food quality and consistency
• Kitchen systems and workflows
• Culinary team leadership
• Food safety and sanitation
• Cost control and inventory management

This role ensures that all food production environments operate with discipline, efficiency, and a commitment to quality.


Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations Leadership
• Oversee kitchen operations across multiple food concepts
• Ensure kitchens are prepared and organized for service
• Maintain efficiency during high-volume service periods


Food Quality & Consistency
• Ensure all menu items meet defined quality and presentation standards
• Maintain consistency across all kitchen environments
• Support proper execution of recipes and preparation standards


Culinary Team Leadership
• Recruit, train, and develop chefs and kitchen leaders
• Build strong, capable culinary teams
• Maintain accountability and performance standards within the kitchen


Food Safety & Sanitation
• Enforce strict food safety and sanitation standards
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and internal procedures
• Maintain proper food handling, storage, and temperature controls


Kitchen Systems & Workflow
• Maintain structured kitchen workflows and preparation systems
• Ensure alignment between kitchen production and service operations
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency


Financial & Cost Management
• Manage food cost, inventory, and waste control
• Maintain purchasing discipline and vendor coordination
• Support labor efficiency within kitchen operations


Event & Programming Support
• Coordinate culinary preparation for events and special programming
• Collaborate with Guest Experience & Events leadership
• Ensure kitchen readiness for large-scale gatherings


What a Typical Week Looks Like

This is a high-presence leadership role within kitchen operations.

• 40–50%: Kitchen oversight during prep and service
• 20–25%: Team leadership and development
• 15–20%: Inventory, cost control, and vendor coordination
• 10–15%: Cross-functional coordination and event planning

Evenings, weekends, and peak service periods are a regular part of this role.


Reporting Structure

Reports to the General Manager

Works closely with:
• Operations Director
• Director of Guest Experience & Events
• Multi-Unit Manager — Food & Beverage

Leads kitchen teams across all food concepts


Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of leadership experience in professional kitchens
• Experience managing high-volume or multi-concept culinary operations
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen systems
• Experience with food cost control, inventory, and purchasing
• Ability to lead and develop culinary teams


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience overseeing multiple kitchen environments
• Background in large-scale or destination-style operations
• Experience supporting events or high-volume service periods
